The Middle East is a key market not just for GMC’s global growth strategy, but also for its brand visibility. Naturally, it was only a matter of time, then, before the all-new 2018 GMC Terrain would make its way to the region, delivering the much-anticipated follow-up to the popular first-generation Terrain.

“GMC’s strong growth over the past decade is due in large part to Terrain,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of global GMC Sales and Marketing. “The all-new Terrain builds on that success, leveraging GMC’s proven premium SUV experience to shake up the largest vehicle segment, with a strong blend of design, functionality, and engineering excellence.”

Available in SLE, SLT, and Denali models, the 2018 Terrain sold in the Middle East will be the same as that already racking up impressive sales numbers in the United States. Among its key features are two new turbocharged engines—the 1.5-liter turbo and 2.0-liter turbo; Electronic Precision Shift with push-button and pull-trigger interface; and high-tech safety offerings including Surround Vision, Forward Collision Alert with Following Distance Indicator, and Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning.

“The 2018 Terrain is the second generation of our premium compact SUV, offering yet more refinement and versatility to GMC’s customers in the region who have long shown their appreciation for our products, and since its introduction to the Middle East we have seen very positive feedback from both existing and new customers that has also been reflected in the sales of the vehicle,” added Sajed Sbeih, Head of Brand, GMC Middle East.

Since launching in 2009, GMC has sold more than 700,000 Terrain SUVs around the globe.
