The Current Version: 2017 GMC Terrain is no less replete with fine features and powerful performance

“The launch of this new generation means a step forward in the history of the brand and industry technological innovation,” said Pedro Ruiz, General Motors’ Marketing Director of Mexico. “GMC Terrain currently accounts for 18% of brand sales with a 7% year-on-year growth to July 2017. With this launch, we are looking to penetrate one of the largest SUV segments with a mix of design, functionality, and engineering excellence.”

The 2018 GMC Terrain is offered standard with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission controllable via electronic interface, which produces 252 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. It gets a shapelier exterior that emphasizes bold lines and precise proportioning for better aerodynamic performance and winds up looking mighty stylish in the process.

New technology will also play a significant role in the Terrain appealing to new drivers. This includes the first-ever application of OnStar 4G LTE with built-in Wi-Fi hotspot for a GMC vehicle, Teen Driver, and safety features like front collision alert with braking assistant and 360-degree reverse camera. The new Terrain’s GMC Infotainment system will also be compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and provide access to apps like Glympse and The Weather Channel.
