2018 Holden Equinox LTZ-V

The 2018 Holden Equinox launches this month, and it is expected to be a hit with drivers by emphasizing technology every bit as much as it emphasizes emotional driving performance and putting the utility in SUV.

“Holden already has a strong SUV line up with Captiva, Trax, and Trailblazer, and now the Equinox takes it to another level. We have an SUV for every lifestyle, and still have the Acadia coming later next year,” said Holden Chairman and Managing Director Mark Bernhard.

“The all-new Equinox is a world-class SUV with an enviable blend of technology, performance, and practicality. It also boasts incredible value for money, falling into our seven-year warranty offer until the end of 2017,” he added. “We’re confident Aussies will love Equinox; in fact, we expect it and our other SUVs to account for about 35% of our sales in the future.”

Holden is calling the new Equinox its most user-friendly SUV, a title earned with the debut of the Safety Alert seat, which notifies drivers of potential hazards with a small vibration, as well as the including of active safety features like Lane Keep Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and Blind Spot Alert. It also delivers desirable amenities like wireless pone charging, a foot-activated hands-free tailgate, and Holden MyLink infotainment with seven-inch touchscreen and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility.

But this is not to discredit the Equinox’s core strengths of performance and versatility—it is offered with two powerful turbo engines, including the class-leading 2.0-liter turbo mated to a nine-speed automatic, and will be offered with an additional turbo diesel option later in 2018. Equinox also delivers best-in-class storage space thanks to its 60/40-split fold-flat seats, and its comfortable and cozy interior is ideal for passenger peace-of-mind.
