The all-new 2018 Honda Accord and the 2018 Honda Odyssey have been earned Good Housekeeping’s 2018 “Best New Car Awards,” and really, is anyone surprised? This is just the latest addition to an impressively long list of awards the Japanese automaker has been racking up in the last several weeks.

It seems that every major publication is rushing to celebrate one or more of its vehicles and there are no signs of anyone being able to steal Honda’s spotlight, especially when it comes to the next-generation Accord, which launched at the end of last year and has since been acclaimed as the best car of 2018, period.

In this case, it is the Accord 1.5T specifically that earned Good Housekeeping’s accolade in the sedan category (it goes without saying that the Odyssey won in the minivan category). The awards were a collaboration between the Goose Housekeeping Institute and the experts at Car & Driver magazine aimed to determining which cars offer the best combination of value, performance, safety, handling, comfort, technology, reliability, and what is known as NVH—the car’s ability to reduce noise, vibration, and harshness.

Good Housekeeping lauded the infotainment system’s placement and the ability to use manual buttons in addition to the touchscreen. “A winner of the second year, this car had a roomy interior, a large trunk and above-average standard safety features that our experts appreciated…You won’t find a better ride at this price.”

Meanwhile, the Odyssey was called “the ultimate family ride,” with features like CabinWatch and CabinTalk earning a lot of positive attention. “The Odyssey is making minivans cool again with smart design extras and innovative tech features,” said Good Housekeeping.
