The 2018 Subaru Outback is an SUV equipped to fit any lifestyle. Whether you’re looking for a cargo-hauling machine or a commuting vehicle to get you from Point A to Point B, the Outback has your back.

The 2018 Subaru Outback comes in six trims: 2.5i, 2.5i Premium, 2.5i Limited, 2.5i Touring, 3.6R Limited, and 3.6R Touring.

What’s New for the 2018 Subaru Outback?

For the 2018 model year, the Subaru Outback is receiving a technology overhaul. Multimedia systems inside the cabin will be significantly improved from last year’s model with the introduction of Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Nuance voice recognition. Plus, safety will improve because drivers won’t have to take their hands off the wheel to stay connected. The interior was also upgraded to higher-quality seating materials and revised styling. Drivers can also enjoy an available Steering Responsive LED Headlight system for added visibility and safety during the darker hours.

2018 Subaru Outback Exterior

The Subaru Outback’s exterior is expertly designed for optimum visibility and maneuverability. New this year, the SUV offers available Steering Responsive LED Headlights. Drivers can also enjoy auto-on/off wiper-linked headlights, fog lights, and a rear windshield wiper system. The 3.6R Touring is styled with 18-inch dark gray aluminum-alloy wheels with a machine finish.

The 2018 Subaru Outback is available in nine exterior colors: Crystal Black Silica, Crimson Red Pearl, Dark Blue Pearl, Ice Silver Metallic, Magnetite Gray Metallic, Twilight Blue Metallic, Tungsten Metallic, Wilderness Green Metallic, Crystal White Pearl.

2018 Subaru Outback Performance

Standard on the 2018 Subaru Outback is a 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER(R) four-cylinder engine paired to a Lineartronic^® Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The standard powertrain produces 175 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque. This engine is standard across all 2.5i trims. Beginning with the 3.6R Limited, the Subaru Outback is equipped with a 3.6-liter SUBARU BOXER^® six-cylinder engine, also paired to the CVT, giving off 256 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque.

The Subaru Outback’s smaller 2.5-liter engine earns an estimated 25 mpg in the city, 32 mpg on the highway, and 28 mpg combined. If you upgrade to the 3.6-liter engine, your fuel economy will lag slightly behind at an estimated 20 mpg in the city, 27 mpg on the highway, and 22 mpg combined.
