With sporty styling, an impressive powertrain, and luxury features throughout the cabin, the 2018 Subaru WRX is built to impress on every road. Its driver-assist technology works to keep you safe behind the wheel, too.

The 2018 Subaru WRX is available in five trims: WRX, Premium, Limited, STI, and STI Limited.

What’s New for the 2018 Subaru WRX?

Safety and overall visual appeal of the Subaru WRX have been improved for the 2018 model year. The front of the WRX has been completely redone in an effort to give is a sportier, more aggressive style. Safety has been improved with the addition of EyeSight Driver Assist Technology. Inside the cabin, you can now opt for Recaro front seats with a power driver door, and all trim levels come standard with upgraded interior materials. If you’re looking for a bit more kick, there’s a new Performance Package, too.

2018 Subaru WRX Exterior

In addition to the redesigned front styling, the Subaru WRX holds an overall athletic stance; a low-profile trunk spoiler adds to the sports-car vibe of the WRX. The base trim comes with 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, but 18-inch and 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels are available on higher trim levels. The 2018 WRX also comes with heated side mirrors, two-speed windshield wipers, and projector low-beam and multi-reflector high-beam halogen headlights to improve visibility.

The 2018 Subaru WRX is available in seven exterior colors: WR Blue Pearl, Dark Gray Metallic, Crystal Black Silica, Ice Silver Metallic, Lapis Pearl Blue, Pure Red, and Crystal White Pearl.

2018 Subaru WRX Performance

The WRX packs a solid punch under its hood. The base WRX trim is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged SUBARU BOXER four-cylinder engine and a six-speed manual transmission. This combination produces 268 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque; the Premium adds an available Sport Lineartronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with paddle shifters. You can further upgrade the WRX’s performance by upping the trim level. The STI and STI Limited come with a 2.5-liter turbocharged SUBARU BOXER four-cylinder engine and a close-ratio six-speed manual transmission, producing 305 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque. All trim levels of the WRX are equipped with Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.

2018 Subaru WRX Efficiency

For a sports sedan, the 2018 WRX offers drivers exceptional fuel efficiency ratings. The smaller, 2.0-liter engine earns an estimated 21 mpg in the city, 27 mpg on the highway, and 23 mpg combined. If you decide to upgrade to the larger 2.5-liter engine, your WRX will earn an estimated 17 mpg in the city, 22 mpg on the highway, and 19 mpg combined.

2018 Subaru WRX Interior

The cabin of the Subaru WRX truly feels like a sports car. The base trim comes with cloth upholstery, but a leather-wrapped flat-bottomed steering wheel with red stitching and Sport-designed electroluminescent gauges add to the sporty factor. If you want to opt for more luxurious materials, the STI offers Ultrasuede/leather-trimmed upholstery and the STI Limited comes with Recaro performance-design front seats.

The 2018 Subaru WRX is available in four interior colors and material combinations: Carbon Black Checkered Cloth, Carbon Black Leather, Black Ultrasuede/Carbon Black leather, and Recaro black Ultrasuede/Carbon Black leather.

2018 Subaru WRX Safety

As with any performance vehicle, safety is a top priority. The WRX comes standard with Subaru’s infamous Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive as well as a traction control system to improve handling at high speeds. The 2018 model year also offers all-new EyeSight Driver-Assist Technology. To increase visibility, all trim levels include Daytime Running Lights and a rear-vision camera.
