If you’re getting all goosed up for the all-new 2019 Ford Ranger, you’re definitely not alone. The Ranger is set to take the midsize pickup segment back by force, and it will do so with a balance of style and ruggedness. Its off-roading capabilities, including Trail Control and Terrain Management System, make it plenty appealing to weekend warriors, and that appeal is only likely to increase with the announcement that Ford Accessories will offer Yakima outdoor adventure accessories directly through Ford dealerships.

“We know our customers see their vehicles as extensions of themselves,” said Eric Cin, global director, Vehicle Personalization. “With the addition of Yakima accessories, Ford aims to enhance the experiences of adventure-driven customers by delivering innovative solutions such as truck bed racks that preserve cargo space by lifting kayaks, bikes, and skis off the floor of the bed. It’s about making each adventure better.”

Accessories that will be available right off the bat for the 2019 Ford Ranger include the BedRock Heavy Duty truck bed rack, a 78-inch crossbar that facilitates above-bed carrying for bikes, skis, and even boats; and the LongArm bed extender, which enables the extension of the Ranger’s truck bed by up to four feet and is rated to carry upwards of 300 pounds. On the list of options, you’ll find recovery track mounts, telescoping side bars, canoe and kayak carriers, tents, and cargo boxes — oh, my.

“Offering Yakima products through our Ford dealerships is a win-win,” Cin said. “It provides customers access to quality adventure accessories and gives them another reason to return to dealerships.”

The 2019 Ford Ranger is poised to deliver best-in-class towing, payload, and torque when it hits the scene early next year.
