2019 Jeep Cherokee Overview

Born to tackle the open road and stray from the beaten path, the Jeep Cherokee has been redesigned for 2019. The Cherokee still holds its iconic Jeep styling, with just a few added features and tweaks to make it even better.

The 2019 Jeep Cherokee is available in six trims: Latitude, Latitude Plus, Limited, Trailhawk, Overland, and Trailhawk Elite.

What’s New for the 2019 Jeep Cherokee?

The Jeep Cherokee’s powertrain has undergone a complete transformation for 2019. This year’s model comes with an all-new available 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Jeep introduced the engine to provide a strong, durable engine — 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque — with improved fuel economy when compared to the V6. The engine also improves the Cherokee’s 0-to-60 time.

The front of the Jeep Cherokee got a redesign for 2019 with a brand new front fascia and lightweight aluminum hood. The 2019 Cherokee also comes with premium bi-LED projector headlamps, daytime running lamps, and fog lamps.

Exterior

In addition to its all-new front-end design, the 2019 Jeep Cherokee comes with new rear features as part of its revamp. The Cherokee now comes with a lightweight, hands-free power liftgate for easy loading and unloading. But despite its front redesign, you can rest assured that the new Cherokee will sport the iconic Jeep grille.

The 2019 Jeep Cherokee is available in six exterior colors: Blue Shade, Sting-Grey, Velvet Red, Firecracker Red, Olive Green, Hydro Blue, Light Brownstone, Granite Crystal, Billet Silver, Diamond Black Crystal, Pearl White, and Bright White.

Performance

At its core, the 2019 Jeep Cherokee sports off-roading performance worthy of the Jeep brand. All six trims are available in 4×4 so you can take the Cherokee with you on the furthest adventures. The standard Cherokee comes with a 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder MultiAir engine, paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission. This combination gives off 180 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque.

The Cherokee also offers a 3.2-liter V6 engine with Variable Valve Timing for 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque. The V6 is available on the Limited and comes standard on the Trailhawk, Overland, and Trailhawk Elite trims. All-new for 2019, the Cherokee is offering a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which gives off 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque.

Efficiency

On the road or off, the Jeep Cherokee holds its own when it comes to fuel efficiency. At its base with the 2.4-liter four-cylinder, the 2019 Cherokee earns an estimated 22 mpg in the city, 31 mpg on the highway, and 25 mpg combined. If you decide to upgrade to the 3.2-liter V6, your efficiency ratings will drop to 18 mpg in the city, 26 mpg on the highway, and 21 mpg combined.

Interior

The cabin of the 2019 Cherokee saw a significant redesign this year as well. Thanks to a restructure, the Jeep Cherokee now boasts four additional cubic feet of storage space in the cargo section. The interior also offers a brand new color — High Gloss Piano Black — which comes with Satin Chrome accents around the dashboard features.

Safety
