2019 Nissan Altima Shows Its Love for NYC Before Debut

The New Nissan Altima Loves New York NAIASOne of the most iconic souvenir designs in New York City history is the I Love NY design. While it usually shows up on shirts, when you wander around the island of Manhattan you can usually find it on everything from snow globes to boxer shorts. To celebrate the debut of the new Altima at the New York International Auto Show, Nissan decided to show its love for the city that never sleeps.

According to the New York State Library, the I Love NY logo was designed by Milton Glaser and was first used to promote tourism starting in 1977. Instead of the usual phrase, Nissan modified it to Altima Loves NY and NY Loves Altima. While that second phrase might sound a bit presumptive, as NY might only like the Altima as a friend, Nissan has the sales figures to back it up. The Northeast sales region of the United States is the biggest market for the Altima, probably because of its maneuverable size and history of quality. It probably doesn’t hurt that it is an affordable vehicle that is eligible to become an uberX vehicle in New York City.

The New York Auto Show will open on March 30th and run through April 8th at the Javits Convention Center in Manhattan. The big Nissan Altima reveal event is scheduled for March 28th during the show’s press preview days. While Nissan usually releases a teaser image of the new vehicle, there is no such luck for the Altima (yet). However, at the end of the promo video released by the automaker the Nissan Intelligent Mobility logo flashes across the screen. We’ll keep our fingers crossed for more advanced safety features for sure.
