The exceptional power, stunning design and off-the-charts capability of the 2019 Ram 1500 so impressed the members of the Texas Automotive Writers Association that they honored it with their top honor of Truck of Texas at their annual Texas Truck Rodeo.

“The all-new 2019 Ram 1500 stole the hearts of our members this year, and has earned our highest honor as the 2019 Truck of Texas. It’s not only capable, but it is comfortable, and the attention to detail is unlike anything in the truck market. It’s a home run for the Ram brand that scored the Truck of Texas trophy,” said Michael Marrs, President of TAWA.

Despite the increased level of difficulty for participating vehicles at this year’s rodeo of wet roads and a lot of mud, the 2019 Ram 1500 along with the Ram Power Wagon and their Fiat Chrysler Automobile cousins, the Dodge Durango SRT, Jeep Wrangler, and Jeep Grand Cherokee persisted and took home notable honors.

The 2019 Ram 1500 also took home the titles of Full-Size Pickup Truck of Texas, Luxury Pickup Truck of Texas, and Off-Road Pickup Truck of Texas. Thanks to its eTorque Mild Hybrid System and 12-inch Uconnect screen, the award-winning 2019 Ram 1500 also won in the categories of Best Powertrain and Best New Technology, respectively, from the members of TAWA.

The titles of Off-Road SUV of Texas and Mid-Size SUV of Texas went to the 2018 Jeep Wrangler while the Jeep Grand Cherokee kept its seven-year winning streak going by earning the title of Mid-Size Luxury SUV. A repeat win in the category of Full-Size SUV was secured by the Dodge Durango SRT. The Ram Power Wagon earned the accolade of Heavy Duty Pickup Truck of Texas.

After all awards had been handed out, FCA brands took home 15 out of the 24 total awards, the most for any manufacturer participating in this year’s TAWA event.
