2019 Ram 1500 Longhorn Earns Truck of the Year Title from Automotive Writers

Eighteen automotive journalists convened at the Bondurant Racing School in Chandler, Arizona, to evaluate a wide range of vehicle types to determine which car, truck, SUV and crossover are best for drivers on the go at the first annual Southwest Lifestyle Media Drive. After reviewing the contenders in areas such as safety systems, fuel efficiency, storage solutions, comfort, and performance, members of the judging panel deemed the 2019 Ram 1500 Longhorn tops in its segment by naming the formidable vehicle the Southwest Lifestyle Truck of the Year.

The 2019 Ram 1500 is available at five trim levels: Tradesman, Big Horn/Lone Star, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn®, and Limited. You have the option of two cab configurations (Crew Cab and Quad Cab), two box lengths (six-feet-4-inches and 5-feet-7-inches), and two drivetrains (4×4 and 4×2). When equipped with either a V6 or V8 engine, the 2019 Ram 1500 achieves impressive fuel efficiency thanks to its innovative eTorque system. The 2019 Ram 1500 is also 225 pounds lighter than its previous generation and features a massive 12-inch touch screen, which delivers a split-screen view, as part of its responsive Uconnect 4C system.
