When The News Wheel asked Dayton Auto Show Manager Marie Gilman which vehicles she expected to attract a lot of attention during this year’s auto show, the 2016 Alfa Romeo 4C Spyder was one of the first cars she mentioned. The 4C Spyder is powered by a 237-horsepower turbo four-cylinder engine and features a carbon fiber body, which keeps the vehicle’s weight at less than 2,500 pounds. The 4C’s powerful engine, combined with its low weight, enables the vehicle to travel from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds. In addition, the Spyder can hit a top speed of 160 mph.

“It’s a beautiful car. We took this one straight off of our showroom floor to bring down to our show,” said Bill Klapper, Fiat management specialist at Bob Ross Fiat. “The performance is unbelievable. I’ve personally driven it several times and it is a monster.”

The starting MSRP of the 2016 4C Spider is $65,000, according to Alfa Romeo USA’s official website.

2016 Lexus RC 300 Coupe

The Lexus brand has come a long way since its first full year of sales in 1990. Once thought of as a luxury brand for an older generation, Lexus has made it a clear focus to create more aggressive and sportier cars to grab the attention of younger consumers.

“The color of this RC 300 is molten pearl,” said Lexus Product Specialist Tom Shults. “It’s unbelievably gorgeous inside or outside the building, but it’s especially beautiful in the sunlight, where you get the change in the textures and the hues.”

The 2016 Lexus RC 300 features a 3.5-liter V6 engine rated at 255 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. The RC 300 is only available with all-wheel drive. In addition, the coupe yields an EPA-estimated 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.

The RAM Minotaur was customized by Prefix Performance and designed to compete with the Ford F-150 Raptor. Prefix Performance is a low-volume production builder that’s also known for painting the current Dodge Viper, which is the reason why the Minotaur features that distinctive green exterior.

Prefix Performance took a standard RAM 1500 and added a KORE tactical suspension, 3-inch Fox racing shocks, 35-inch all-terrain tires, tow hooks, aluminum skid plate, Minotaur badging, blackout headlamps, a Viper-inspired side exhaust, and a 6.4-liter HEMI 392 engine good for 475 horsepower.

“Currently we have thirty vehicles on order,” said John Coe, sales and account manager, Prefix Performance. “I want to say we’ve got ten builds that are complete and we’ll be ramping up to where we’ll be building hopefully eight to ten of these a month.”
