Chevy has announced the Bolt EV could cost certain consumers only $29,995

In a “shocking” bit of news, it appears that the Bolt is attracting several outside buyers for Chevy

Brand loyalty is a very real thing in the automotive world. While customers who have had a bad experience with a brand will probably elect to never buy from said brand again, it takes something very enticing to lure them away from a brand that they have grown to appreciate.

One such enticing thing for the Chevy brand appears to be the Chevrolet Bolt EV. After all, 70% of Chevy Bolt buyers are new to Chevrolet.

The stat comes straight from Chevrolet, which held a press briefing right before an autocross event for the Bolt EV. So far, seven out of 10 Bolt buyers have never owned a Chevrolet vehicle before their latest purcahse, or at the very least never bought one. With the inclusion of an all-electric model to its lineup, Chevrolet seems to be attracting motorists who never would have considered the automaker prior to its addition.

While the Bolt is attracting a large number of people who are new to the Chevrolet brand, it is also attracting buyers who are new to electric vehicles. Chevy found that 33% of Bolt EV buyers have never owned an alternative-fuel vehicle before their new Bolt purchase.

With an electric model released from a big-name American manufacturer, the popularity of such vehicles seems to be on the rise. That’s good news for brands like Tesla and Volvo, who have established an all-electric future for their fleets.

Now that the Bolt is available nationwide, it seems like more drivers than ever are opting out of a Prius or turning away from Tesla in favor of Chevrolet’s latest venture into the all-electric vehicle segment: the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV.
