Hundreds Attend GMC Off-Road Festival in Qatar
More than 700 rabid truck and SUV enthusiasts recently attended Mannai Auto Group’s GMC Off-Road Festival in the desert of Qatar. Among the attendees were several GMC owners from all walks of life, their families, and a whole parade of GMC’s latest and greatest vehicles.
“The Off-Road Festival was in many ways an early celebration of Qatar’s National Day, and represents our collective pride along with our customers of being part of this great community,” said Mohammed Helmy, Mannai Auto Group General Manager. “It was also exciting for families and friends who made the most of the great weather Qatar is currently enjoying. We have to thank the GMC owners’ clubs in Qatar who contributed significantly to making this event a great success, especially the Sierra Club who came out with unbridled enthusiasm and were keen to challenge their own excellent skills alongside our specialized drivers.”
The whole shebang got underway when a convoy of GMC vehicles rolled across the deserts en masse toward a campsite set up on the outskirts of Doha. There, professional drivers took guests on an adventure by traversing a thrilling off-road course and putting the new GMC Sierra and Yukon to the test. Those looking for shade from the desert heat could seek shelter in Bedouin-style tents, where food and refreshments were available to one and all.
“We thoroughly enjoy seeing our customers take part in these adrenaline-fueled adventures as it allows them to observe how our technical drivers maneuver GMC vehicles in desert areas,” said Jeroen Barwegen, Regional Sales and Marketing Director.
Because the GMC Off-Road Festival sounds like the most awesome thing ever, it also featured henna tattoos, face painting, camel rides, and bouncy castles. Here’s hoping we can score an invite next year (we are unabashed in our love of bouncy castles).
