Aaron Widmar

Aaron Widmar

Senior Editor

Aaron Widmar is unashamed to be a native Clevelander and the proud driver of a 1995 Saturn SC-2 (knock on wood). He gleefully utilizes his background in theater, literature, and communication to dramatically recite his own articles to nearby youth. Mr. Widmar happily resides in Dayton, Ohio with his magnificent wife, Vicki, but is often on the road with her exploring new destinations. Aaron has high aspirations for his writing career but often gets distracted pondering the profound nature of the human condition and forgets what he was writing… Articles by Aaron | Contact Aaron

Rebecca Bernard

Rebecca Bernard

Senior Editor

Rebecca Bernard, a Dayton native, she got her start blogging at the curiously named Harlac’s Tongue while studying abroad. She admits to only driving a trusty old Ford Focus named Eugene, but aspires to own the perfect car for navigating Ohio’s hot summers and winter snow. On any given weekend, you can find her with her camera at area festivals and car shows, shopping at flea markets, or taking an adventure on the open road. Articles by Rebecca | Contact Rebecca

Patrick Grieve

Patrick Grieve

Editor

Patrick Grieve was born in Southwestern Ohio and has lived there all of his life, with the exception of a few years spent getting a Creative Writing degree in Southeastern Ohio. He loves to take road trips, sometimes to places as distant as Northeastern or even Northwestern Ohio. Patrick also enjoys old movies, shopping at thrift stores, going to ballgames, writing about those things, and watching Law & Order reruns. He just watches the original series, though, none of the spin-offs. And also only the ones they made before Jerry Orbach died. Season five was really the peak, in his opinion. Daneil Susco

Daniel Susco

Editor

Daniel Susco is a native of the Dayton-Cincinnati area, and has written on a multitude of subjects. He can discuss Shakespeare, expound on Classical Mythology, and even make witty jokes about Pliny the Elder (More like “Pliny the Rounder,” right?). In his free time, Daniel enjoys reading, cooking, woodworking, and long walks on the beach (just kidding – sunburn is no joke). Articles by Daniel | Contact Daniel

Samuel Huist

Sam Huist

Editor

Samuel Huist is easily the tallest member (6-feet 5-inches) of The News Wheel’s team. He enjoys listening to hip-hop music and loves watching NBA basketball. Sam is also a Dayton, Ohio native and doesn’t seem to mind that distinction as much anymore. His first car was a 1996 Ford Tauras he could barely fit in. Like many young folks, he seemed more concerned about the radio in his first car than actually doing the work to maintain an automobile, so sadly it’s no longer with us. Kurt Verlin, writer for The News Wheel

Kurt Verlin

Editor

Kurt Verlin was born in France and lives in the United States. Throughout his life he was always told French was the language of romance but it was English he fell in love with. He likes cats, music, cars, 30 Rock, Formula 1, and pretending to be a race car driver in simulators; but most of all, he just likes to write about it all. Articles by Kurt | Contact Kurt

Zachary Berry

Zachary Berry

Editor

Zachary Berry currently resides in the Dayton, Ohio area. However, he enjoys traveling from place to place, as he was born in Oklahoma City and has also lived in Albuquerque and Orlando (such is the life of a military brat). Zachary graduated from Ohio University with a major in Strategic Communication, which is fancy talk for advertising and public relations. Beginning his career at The News Wheel as a lowly intern, he was able to climb his way to the top, eventually claiming his place within the last cubicle on the left. Other jobs that Zachary has held include driving around a safari truck at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. When he’s not putting his nose to the grindstone, Zachary enjoys watching and critiquing movies and television. Articles by Zachary | Contact Zachary
