American Honda Motor reported a new November sales record last month with deliveries of 122,924 Honda and Acura vehicles, up 6.5% from sales in November 2015; sales of American Honda trucks increased 9.9% for a new November record of 62,737 units. Honda Division scored a new November sales record of its own with 111,308 units delivered, up 7.9% year-over-year.

Honda Division was led by a 5.6% year-over-year increase for its cars; sales of the Accord were up 6.3% with 27,182 units, sales of the Civic were up 1% with 25,303 units, and sales of the Fit were up 42.8% with 4,309 units.

“Considering the continued consumer appetite for trucks and SUVs, we’re excited to see Honda cars resonate so well with our customers,” said Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda Division. “This is especially gratifying considering the strength of our light truck lineup, as we continue to hit on all cylinders with individual retail buyers.”

Truck and SUV sales totaled 54,365 units, up 10.3% year-over-year. Much of the increase can be attributed to the HR-V and the Ridgeline, the latter of which sold 3,464 units to mark a full year on the market.

Acura car sales were down 27.3% at 3,244 units, and Acura truck sales were up 7.6% at 8,372 units. Highlights for the brand include a 13% year-over-year increase for the MDX, of which Acura delivered 4,622 units.

“Strong sales of the new Acura MDX demonstrate that our design direction and focus on performance is the right path for the Acura brand,” said Jon Ikeda, vice president and general manager of the Acura division. “With the NSX and the MDX leading the way, we will take our entire lineup toward Acura’s Precision Crafted Performance DNA.”

Through November, American Honda sales are up 2.9% at 1,477,465 units delivered. Honda Division sales are up 4.5% at 1,333,253 units, and Acura sales are down 10.1% at 144,212 units.
