The 2015 Acura MDX

American Honda Motor posted record sales in January, with a total of 102,184 Honda and Acura vehicles sold last month. Of those units, 11,982 were Acuras, marking the luxury brand’s best January since 2007, and good for a 10.7% sales increase over January 2014.

Just like in December, Acura sales were primarily driven by the MDX, which sold a record 4,381 vehicles for a 3.3% increase over last year. The RDX saw a 28.8% sales jump, with a record 3,517 units sold. It was the second consecutive January sales record for the MDX, and the third for the RDX.

The newly-introduced TLX got off to a strong start with 2,892 units sold in its first-ever January.

“With a major mid-cycle refresh for the ILX gateway model on the way, it’s great to begin the year with such strong sales,” said Mike Accavitti, Acura division senior VP and general manager. “MDX and RDX are packing a stronger 1-2 punch than ever to create new energy and momentum for the Acura brand that we look forward to carrying through 2015.”
