Of the 155,491 vehicles that American Honda Motor Co. sold last month, 15,313 of them were Acura models. That represents a mere 1.1% decrease in sales compared to August 2014—not bad, considering the Honda brand as a whole dipped 6.9% in year-over-year sales.

“Strong sales of both sedans and trucks is now a reality for the Acura brand,” said executive vice president of American Honda John Mendel. “Our lineup has avoided the ups and downs of the market which is keeping Acura on pace for our best sales year since 2007.”

Acura’s best-selling sedan, the TLX, remained popular with luxury car buyers, with 4,353 units sold (good for a whopping 90.4% increase). Though all other Acura sedans were down, the strength of the TLX was enough to lift the brand’s overall sedan sales 24% over August of 2014.

Acura’s light truck segment continued to be the automaker’s bread and butter, with sales of the MDX totaling 4,747 units (a 24.1% decrease) and sales of the RDX  amounting to 4,364 vehicles (a 13.8% increase).

Though August was by no means a spectacular month for Acura, the company’s year-to-date sales of 117,315 units remains an 11.3% increase over August 2014.
