American Buick Envision Sales to Begin in 3Q 2015

If the Buick Envision sounds familiar, that’s because the GM brand already introduced it to the Chinese market. So where’s our American Buick Envision then?

Never fear—It’s almost here.

Edmunds reported yesterday that sales of the American Buick Envision are expected to begin in the third quarter of 2015, and that it will be available with “mild hybrid technology,” meaning that the engine would turn off when braking or coasting (or, of course) stopped, and start up immediately when a driver’s foot touches the accelerator. The Buick Envision crossover would fit between the Buick Encore and the Buick Enclave.

It is important to note that Edmunds got its information from an inside source, but GM has not yet officially confirmed this vehicle for US shores.

It is also rumored that GM will be bringing the Opel Cascada convertible to the States and slapping a Buick badge on it for American use, though again, GM has said nothing. The confirmation instead comes from “sources within GM’s dealer network.”

We’ll bring you updates on the two models as they are available.
