The final 2017 Honda Ridgeline teaser image

Honda released another teaser image of the upcoming 2017 Honda Ridgeline pickup today, while also announcing that the truck will make its world debut at 1:15 pm on January 11, 2016, at the 2016 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The photograph shows the truck’s bed, confirming what we already knew about the redesigned vehicle disposing of the first-gen Ridgeline’s unconventional high-walled pickup bed.

After it’s Detroit debut, the 2017 Honda Ridgeline will go on sale sometime in the first half of next year.

“We developed this new Honda Ridgeline to offer something new and fundamentally better suited to the way many buyers use their truck,” said Honda executive Jeff Conrad. “Ridgeline will deliver everything you’d expect in a Honda from incredible packaging and fuel-efficiency to top safety technologies and innovative, segment-first features.  We’re honored to once again debut the Ridgeline in Detroit at the North American International Auto Show.”

Enthusiasts already have a pretty good idea of what the new Ridgeline will look like, thanks to the Baja Race Truck that debuted at SEMA, which featured design elements on the upcoming production model—specifically in the vehicle’s “front fascia, hood, roof, bed, and side profile.”

When it has its official premiere at the 2016 NAIAS, the Ridgeline will become the fourth new or significantly refreshed Honda light truck model introduced in the last18 months, following the CR-V, HR-V and Pilot. In 2016, the 2017 Honda Ridgeline and a fully redesigned Honda Odyssey minivan will continue Honda’s focus on updating its light truck lineup.
