Another Month, Another Record Sales Performance for Ford F-Series in Canada

The 2017 Ford F-Series Super Duty provides seating for up to six people and carries a starting MSRP of less than $33,000

Ford Motor Company of Canada posted its best May result in 28 years, delivering a total of 34,486 vehicles and a year-over-year sales increase of 17%. Ford was led by best-ever May sales from the F-Series and Canadian-built Edge, as well as by the best month ever for the Transit Van.

“Landmark sales in May showcase the strength of Ford products across the lineup,” said Mark Buzzell, president and CEO, Ford of Canada. “We are very proud that Canadians choose Ford as their top auto brand and look forward to continuing to meet demand for some of Canada’s favorite vehicles.”

Ford’s total car sales were up 7.1% on the month with 5,610 units delivered, while truck/SUV/van sales increased 19.5% at 28,876 units delivered. Leading the way for Ford cars were the Fusion with a 19% increase, Mustang with a 25% increase, C-MAX with a 103% increase, and Taurus with a 5% increase.

F-Series sales topped last May’s record effort with a 12% year-over-year increase, while the Edge scored its best May ever with a 15% increase and Transit Van sales were the best for any month on record with a 23% increase. Also seeing upticks in sales were the Transit Connect (up 42%), Escape (up 26%), Flex (up 15%), Explorer (up 25%), and Expedition (up 28%).

Lincoln Motor Company sales were up 21%, led by a 126% increase for the Navigator, 82% increase for the MKZ, 9% increase for the MKC, and 4% increase for the MKX.

Through May, Ford Canada’s sales total 127,591 units, up 5.3% from 2016.
