Actress Ashley Benson supports Wags and Walks for Chevy's #DayItForward campaign

Yesterday, Chevrolet encouraged people to do something kind with the extra 24 hours provided to them by Leap Day, dubbing the campaign #DayItForward. The American automaker is urged everyone to get involved, including a few famous faces.

A few celebrities, like Sophia Vergara and Mario Lopez, chose to help out the less fortunate—by which I mean their long-suffering personal assistants. But even more celebrities opted to spend the day with animals: late night host Andy Cohen helped out at an animal shelter, Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale went to LA’s Wildlife Learning Center, and Hale’s Pretty Little Liars co-star Ashley Benson teamed up with Chevy to do something special for her favorite animal charity, Wags and Walks.

Wags and Walks was founded ten years ago by Lesley Brog, the daughter of a veterinarian, who was upset by how many healthy dogs were being euthanized simply due to overcrowding. So in 2009, Brog left her pharmaceutical sales job to work to place dogs with loving families.

“I first heard about Wags and Walks through my friend,” Ashley Benson explains in the video. “I wanted to get involved because anything with dogs breaks my heart if they don’t have a home.”

So Benson asked Chevy to support the opening of Wags and Walks’ first official adoption center, helping Brog find more loving homes for the animals she cares for. Even more heartwarming, Benson gathered many of the people who had adopted dogs from Brog before to come together and show their appreciation for the important work that she does with her charity.
