General Motors Holden Executive Director of Human Resources Ashley Winnett was named the “Management Maestro” for 2016 in the second-annual LinkedIn Conscious Business Leadership Awards.

Winnett was given the award by LinkedIn VP Fred Kofman, who said: “Consciousness is key. Through a conscious practice of business, you anchor yourself in your essential values, choose behaviors in alignment with such values, and act with unconditional responsibility and integrity. Through a conscious practice of business, you can succeed beyond success.”

The LinkedIn Conscious Business Leadership Awards were inspired in part by Kofman’s book, Conscious Business: How to Build Values Through Values. The winners in each of the four categories—Management Maestro, Talent Magnet, Culture Champion, and Loyalty Advocate—are determined by LinkedIn and a panel of peers

Winnett is the first Australian recipient of the award, with recognizes human resource leaders who work to improve working conditions by creating transparency and trustworthiness within their respective organizations.

“Holden is a truly an amazing place to work,” said Winnett upon accepting his prize. “Our people care for each other and strive each and every day for excellence in everything we do. Whilst the last couple of years have been immensely challenging on an emotional level, we are excited about assisting our people and the business transition from a Design, Manufacture, and Sales past to a future which includes a world class Design studio and amazing National Sales organization.”

Winnett added: “Our team’s mission is both selfless and clear: support our employees to successfully transition to life outside of Holden whilst building a new Holden [that] honors the legacy of those that could not continue on our amazing corporate journey to be Australia’s Best Automotive Company.”
