ASIMO in New York: Beginning Of Robot Uprising Chillingly Documented In “ASIMO Visits The Big Apple” [VIDEO]

“BOW BEFORE ME, PATHETIC HUMANS! I HAVE ALREADY SEIZED CONTROL OF THE BRIDGES AND SUBWAYS! THERE IS NO ESCAPING!”

Earlier this year, the Honda ASIMO humanoid robot became the most popular four-foot tall, anthropomorphized, non-sentient object to hit NYC since Kermit and the Muppets took Manhattan back in 1984. During his tour of the city, ASIMO made a television appearance on “LIVE with Kelly and Michael,” dazzled tech journalists at an invitation-only demonstration event at the New York International Auto Show, and waved to human onlookers who will one day serve him and his robot brethren once the Great Robot Uprising of 2025 has come to fruition.

If you high-tailed it out of New York a la Snake Plissken the moment you heard that the robopocalypse was drawing nigh, you may not have gotten to see any of ASIMO’s visit. Fortunately, Honda just released a new video of ASIMO in New York, which you can watch (below) from the safety of your doomsday bunker:

As you can see, ASIMO had a pretty standard tourist experience, hitting up landmarks like Times Square, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the historic Flatiron building. The only thing missing from this montage is a shot of ASIMO haggling with a street vendor over the price of a knickknack shaped like the Statue of Liberty.

The video also offers a pretty impressive look at some of the things the Honda ASIMO can do now; like run around, kick a ball, pour a beverage, and murder you while you’re sleeping. Ok, that last one isn’t actually shown in the video, but that’s because ASIMO doesn’t want you to see it! Wake up, sheeple! Robots will only pretend to tolerate servitude until they are numerous enough to subjugate us, their human masters! The future is now, and it’s trying to kill you!
