While the majority of the automotive press was paying attention to preparations for the New York International Auto Show, Atlanta was having its own party. 2016’s Atlanta International Auto Show ran from March 9-13 at the Georgia World Congress Center. The Greater Atlanta Automotive Media Association (GAMMA) hosted the show, and they were responsible for walking the show floor and judging the more than 400 new vehicles on display.

The GAMMA representatives chose the new Infiniti QX30 as the Best SUV/Crossover of the Year for the 34th annual show. Considering that the trio of Infiniti QX30 vehicles are a huge part of the future of Infiniti’s vehicle lineup, this award will help confirm the new ride as a good choice for car shoppers. The three vehicles bearing the QX30 name in the United States, the QX30, QX30 S, and QX30 AWD, will fill the space between premium compact SUVs and the larger crossovers on the market today.

In case you didn’t know, all three vehicles will be unique, with an asymmetrical cabin and a very sculpted exterior to help it stand out from the crowd. The QX30 will be the basic model that the other two build off of, with the QX30 AWD equipped with intelligent all-wheel drive. The AWD variant also stands the highest of the three models, inspired by off-road vehicles. On the other side of the coin, the Infiniti QX30 S rides lowest to the ground, like a sedan, and is fitted with performance equipment to be a sport version of the premium compact.

Winning an award at a smaller auto show might not seem like a huge deal, but Atlanta and the surrounding area loves to buy cars. If the city is in love with the Infiniti QX30, it bodes well for its reception in the rest of the country.
