German automotive manufacturer Audi has recently announced the introduction of the RS Avant to the country of India.

The Audi RS6 Avant is the fourth sports car the company has launched in India this year, joining the Audi R8 LMX, Audi TT Coupe, and the Audi RS7. In an effort to compete with their rival Mercedes-Benz, Audi plans to release 10 products in India by the year’s end.

The RS6 Avant comes with a 4.0-liter TFSI V8 bi-turbo engine, which is capable off 552 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. Fans of fuel efficiency should be happy to find out the vehicle also comes with a cylinder-on-demand system. This COD system can switch the engine from eight to four cylinders, depending on how much pressure is applied by the driver’s foot.

“We believe it’s about time to introduce the Avant to luxury connoisseurs in our country…we are confident that the elegant dynamics of the car will appeal to auto enthusiasts seeking style, speed and luxury,” said Audi India head Joe King.
