The E-Class line led August Mercedes-Benz sales

Another month, another record broken: Mercedes-Benz reported a 9.4 percent year-over-year increase with August sales totaling of 27,078 units. The number was supplemented by 1,880 Sprinter Vans and 1,334 smart cars—up 35.3 and 34.3 percent respectively—for a total of 30,292 units across the three MBUSA lines.

“A record sales pace and strong customer focus has honed our competitive edge in the luxury market,” said Stephen Cannon, president and CEO of MBUSA. “With the new C-Class rolling onto dealer lots and our first entry into the compact utility segment just weeks away, we’re in the early stages of a product offensive that will take the brand to its highest year on record.”

The Mercedes-Benz brand was led in August by their C-, E-, and M-Class vehicles; the E-Class accounted for 6,481 units, the C-Class accounted for 5,151 even with the new 2015 models not available until the final few days of the month, and the M-Class added 3,438 vehicles.

The CLS-Class four-door coupe gained 47.8 percent with 1,150 vehicles sold, and the S-Class gained 312.2 percent with 1,855 units.

Mercedes-Benz AMG added 736 units in August, bringing the year-to-date total to 7,224 (up 64.4 percent).

Mercedes-Benz CPO pumped out sales of 13,018 vehicles in August, good for a 40.6 percent year-over-year increase. To date, MBCPOs have sold to the tune of 79,704 units across Americaa.
