Bill Ford Named Marquee Speaker for Detroit Startup Week

Ford announced on Monday that executive chairman Bill Ford will join a star-studded lineup of marquee speakers at Detroit Startup Week, powered by Chase, which takes place from May 23rd to 27th. The five-day event will also feature more than 100 events featuring an estimated 2,500+ participants.

“Our city is unlike any other, with both ingenuity and a welcoming spirit, brilliance and grit, and opportunities abound. Detroit Startup Week is designed to glue together those opportunities, celebrate what’s already working, and lay the groundwork for what’s to come,” said Kyle Bazzy, lead organizer, Detroit Startup Week, powered by Chase.

Bill Ford joins a list of speakers that includes CEO of Chase Business Jennifer Piepszak; theSkimm co-founders Danielle Weisberg and Carly Zakin; Denver Startup Week co-founder and Downtown Denver Partnership president and CEO Tami Door; Foundry Group co-founder Jason Mendelson; and Detroit mayor Mike Duggan.

Detroit Startup Week, powered by Chase, enters its sixth year in 2016. The event is designed to support the entrepreneurial spirit with 10 learning tracks: technology, entrepreneurship 101, mobility, music, food-preneurship, art+design, civic innovation, neighborhood collaboration, social entrepreneurship, and the Internet of things. Events will take place across the city, including venues such as the Grand Circus, Techtown, and Masonic Temple.
