Bill Ford to Speak at Web Summit; SYNC AppLink Developer Challenge Announced
Ford Executive Chairman Bill Ford has been announced to speak on the opening day of Web Summit, taking place in Dublin from November 3-5. More than 22,000 people from 110 countries are expected to attend the event, which is one of the world’s preeminent meeting places for leaders in technology.
“Web Summit has grown from attracting 400 people in 2010 into being one of the most important gatherings of startups on the planet. Ford was the original disruptor—putting the world on wheels, and we couldn’t wish for a more inspiring and relevant speaker than Bill Ford, who has long been a champion of technology and mobility,” said Paddy Cosgrave, CEO and co-founder, Web Summit.
In addition to Ford’s speech, the company will be holding another 24-hour SYNC AppLink Developer Challenge, wherein programmers will have the opportunity to win €75,000 in prize money and have their app promoted by Ford. Developer teams have until October 31st to register for the SYNC AppLink Challenge Dublin at https://dublin.makeitdriveable.com/.
Ford recently held an AppLink developer Challenge in San Francisco, and another is scheduled for Tel Aviv later this year.
