BMW 340i GT M Sport EstorilblauAfter a bit of a lull, we’re seeing a couple of auto shows bring new concepts and redesigned models to the spotlight. At the Paris Motor Show, the big story from BMW was the reveal of the BMW Concept X2, but there’s another model you shouldn’t overlook: the redesigned BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo.

Keep On Running: Routine Car Maintenance Tips

According to AutoBlog, the model was technically revealed back in June, but its turn in Paris is the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo’s big auto show debut. The vehicle is a five-door hatchback, which might sound weird for a BMW, but the car’s new, sleeker shape makes any thoughts of a sluggish wagon disappear from any observer’s mind.

This vehicle is the most popular in the US, China, and Germany, but given the universal appeal of this car, it’s not surprising. The refreshed model has three traditional gasoline engine options, with a power output between 184 to 326 horsepower, and five diesel engines that achieve 150 to 313 horsepower. Rear-wheel drive is standard for this vehicle, but some trims can be upgraded with the BMW xDrive all-wheel drive.

While this vehicle is just now making to the auto show world, it’s actually slated to arrive at American dealerships soon, if it hasn’t already landed. The interesting blend of BMW style with the versatility of a hatchback makes it a vehicle that could appeal to a broad range of customers. It’s certainly something different from the rest of the BMW lineup, which may be why its previous incarnations were so popular. We’ll see how the public responds to the refresh.
