The 2016 ALPINA B6 xDrive Gran Coupe is on its way to North America

2015 is a milestone year for BMW. It’s the 40th anniversary of the founding of BMW of North America, the 40th anniversary of the company’s first major US motorsports victory at the 1975 12 Hours of Sebring, and the 50th anniversary of ALPINA Automobiles.

To commemorate these monumental achievements, BMW is throwing a celebration at the 2015 New York International Auto Show. At the beginning of April, the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in Manhattan will be showcasing multiple automotive stars, including the North American debut of the 2016 BMW ALPINA B6 xDrive Gran Coupe.

BMW is bringing multiple models to the Big Apple in April, including:

2016 BMW ALPINA B6 xDrive Gran Coupe: The fastest BMW vehicle in the brand’s lineup (0-60 mph acceleration of 3.6 seconds with 200 mph top speed) will be equipped with a 4.4 liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine and reach a robust horsepower of 600. Notable features include intelligent all-wheel drive, a stainless steel exhaust system, trademark elliptical twin tailpipes, a reshaped front spoiler, improved braking, electronic suspension technologies, and Full LED Adaptive Headlights. The B6 Gran Coupe is only available by special order, as a limited amount will be produced.

1970 BMW 2002ti ALPINA: The iconic race car built by ALPINA GmbH is part of the BMW USA Classic Collection and features a 2.0-liter single overhead camshaft engine.

1975 BMW 3.0 CSL: The original winner of the 12 Hours of Sebring began the brand’s renowned slogan, “The Ultimate Driving Machine.” Proudly flaunting its “Bavarian Motor Works” origins on its windshield, the 3.0 CSL, which is nicknamed the “Batmobile” by fans, is one of the most successful production race cars of its day. The BMW 3.0 CSL is powered by a 3.5 liter, 430-horsepower inline-6 racing engine.

2015 BMW Z4 GTLM: The current race car of BMW Team RLL, driven by a 4.4-liter, 480-horsepower BMW V8 engine, is taking a break from the Tudor United Sports Car Championship series to make a public appearance.

Other vehicles will be the BMW i8 supercar, BMW i3, BMW X5M, and BMW X6M.
