Hipsters of Brooklyn, rejoice! While budgets stretched thin by moustache care items, sky-high rent, and coffees adorned with latte art usually make driving a BMW out of reach, you might be behind one of those German-engineered wheels sooner than you think.

The BMW Group has announced plans to expand its ReachNow car sharing service to the New York City borough of Brooklyn. The service will allow participants to reserve a BMW vehicle when they need to drive somewhere instead of riding the subway or bus. That’s great news for the Brooklyn residents who don’t want the everyday expense of a vehicle, but would really like access to a car to impress their potential in-laws or investors in their artisan cheese store.

All jokes aside, BMW will be expanding the ReachNow car sharing program beyond its usual parameters. Now users of the app will be able to request a specific vehicle to be delivered to their location to rent for up to five days. ReachNow has also announced that it will offer a service that puts BMW ‘stations’ at various locations with its own onsite fleet for convenience for nearby drivers.

BMW sees car sharing as a big part of the future of the automotive world. Many young adults in bigger cities cannot afford the costs to own and maintain a vehicle of their own. With many other automakers, like Chevrolet and Ford, hopping on the bandwagon, we’ll see how long it takes for a big city to trend to catch on nationwide.
