BMW GINA Light Visionary Model on Display in Atlanta
Starting May 21 and running through September 7, the BMW GINA Light Visionary Model will be on display at the “Dream Cars: Innovative Design, Visionary Ideas” exhibit at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. The BMW GINA will be one of 17 different concept cars, manufactured between the 1930s and now, available for public consumption.
We may not know what art i, but we know what we like. And what we like is a super-slick BMW. We like that a lot.

The BMW GINA Light Visionary Model remains as unique in 2014 as it was when it was first introduced back in 2008. GINA is skinned in tight and lightweight polyurethane-coated fabric and, unlike your neighbor who tries to rock Spandex, looks quite good in it. The BMW GINA changes shapes according to driver input, as well as to accommodate for speed and conditions.
To this very day, GINA is quite unlike any other concept vehicle ever made, which is why it was an ideal candidate for the “Dream Cars: Innovative Design, Visionary Ideas” exhibit.

“Beyond its undeniable beauty, the GINA Light Visionary Model was an advanced, water-resistant, translucent textile-bodied concept car with a virtually seamless fabric exterior skin that could change elements of its shape on demand. And it wasn’t just a fanciful exercise,” says Ken Gross, Consulting Curator for ‘Dream Cars: Innovative Design, Visionary Ideas.’ “The GINA study helped BMW to develop rapid manufacturing, digital tooling techniques and a robot-guided steel embossing process to create the complex hoods for the production of the BMW Z4 M Roadster and the BMW Z4 M Coupé.”
