BMW M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe Teased

BMW has already been busy in 2013 with the release of the i8 hybrid, i3 EV, and the revamped 3 series.  The reveal of the highly-sought-after performance brand prior to the New Year would prove as something of a fitting cap on an undeniably successful year for the German automaker.

The bad news: this teaser is little more than a festive Christmas lightshow that reveals both the sedan and coupe’s profiles in lights against a dark backdrop. No music to set your heart racing.  No technician at the switch making the M4 rev its engine in sweet song. Just the promise of a proper look to come.

The good news: that proper look at both the M3 sedan and M4 coupe should, according to Motor Authority, occur sometime over the coming weeks. We already know that both vehicles will come with a 3.0L twin-turbocharged, direct-injected V6 engine, standard six-speed manual gearbox, and a decreased vehicle weight for better fuel efficiency.

Even better news for those Bimmer enthusiasts who picked up the recently released Gran Turismo 6 for Playstation 3 or Playstation 4: multiple outlets are reporting that the BMW M4 will make its (in-game) world debut on Thursday as a free download for GT6 players. That means that gamers will be able to pit the M4 coupe against the legendary 1957 BMW 507 or the top-performing 2011 BMW Z4 GT racer.

With more information on the BMW M3 sedan and M4 coupe sure to arrive before its January 13, 2014 reveal at NAIAS, be sure to check in at The News Wheel for the latest updates!
