There are schools all over the world that claim they can teach you how to be the perfect driver. Whether you’re looking to be a better driver on the road, or you want to get your teen off to the right start, there is a driving school for that. BMW is throwing its hat in the ring with a special course at the BMW Performance Driving School at Virginia International Speedway. What makes the new BMW class so special? The teachers are world-class race car drivers.

First on the roster of teachers is Brian Redman, who in BMW circles is probably best known for his win at 12 Hours of Sebring in a BMW CSL (which he will have with him at Virginia International Speedway). Redman is also a member of the Motorsports Hall of Fame and raced Formula 5000 cars. Boris Said, the only American to win the 24 Hours of Nurburgring in Germany, will join Redman on the track as an instructor. Besides his famous victory, Said also raced a BMW PTG for several years and drove in the Tudor Sports Car Challenge with BMW. Last, but certainly not least, of the celebrity driving instructors is Bill Auberlen. He has driven for BMW in more races than any other driver in history, and currently drives a BMW M6 GTLM in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Series.

The BMW Performance Driving School will be held November 7-8, 2016, with a private reception for participants on the night of November 6th . Interested drivers will learn how to drive like a pro, and take a hot lap ride in Redman’s 1975 12 Hours of Sebring winning #25 3.0 CSL.

If you can’t make it to the special event in Virginia, BMW regularly offers BMW Performance Driving School programs like Teen Driving School, Driving School, M School, and Motorcycle Riding Schools in South Carolina and California.
