Usually, you’d expect Elsa to be the cause of persistent winter weather

Yesterday may have been the first official day of spring. However, that hasn’t stopped certain parts of the country from experiencing some of winter’s worst this week.

In fact, the New England area has been hit with several snowstorms during the past few weeks, courtesy of multiple nor’easter weather patterns. This has led to numerous school closures and headaches for those who have to travel regardless of all the ice and snow.

One police wagon in Boston recently encountered vehicular problems when it became trapped in a particularly heavy bank of snow. Fortunately, the Boston police received assistance from an unexpected source: Queen Elsa of Arendelle from the Disney film Frozen.

Or rather, a local Boston resident who dressed as her. The cosplayer in question was none other than Jason Triplett, a 37-year-old attorney who lives in the Boston area.

Triplett purchased the Elsa costume last year as a way to get a laugh out of his friends. Given the recent winter weather, Triplett decided to head to the local Boston bar The Gallows decked out in the royal attire to meet up with some of his friends.

However, when the police wagon become stuck in the snow outside of the bar, Triplett leapt into action. After several attempts, Triplett was finally able to help the wagon escape from its predicament when the snow finally “let it go.”

“The officers involved were especially grateful for the help and would like to thank the Elsa-impersonator for the assist,” said Boston police Officer James Kenneally, a spokesman for the department.

Patrons in the bar cheered on “Elsa” during the entire encounter. Some of them even recorded the incident.

What the bar patrons didn’t exactly do was assist “Elsa” in his attempts to free the wagon. To be fair, one onlooker exited the bar to help, but by the time he got out there, the wagon had already been freed.

“I feel a little guilty we didn’t help push,” says Christopher Haynes, a restaurant publicist who was in the bar at the time. “But Elsa had it taken care of, clearly.”

Those patrons shouldn’t be too hard on themselves, though. After all, Elsa has admitted that the cold never bothered her anyway.
