Buick Achievers Scholarship Program now open for 2015 applications
The Buick Achievers Scholarship Program has opened up for applications for 2015 scholarships, Buick announced this week. The program, funded by the General Motors Foundation, has been around for five years to provide financial aid for students who show dedication in the classroom and a commitment to their communities.
Of particular importance to the Buick Achievers Scholarship Program is urging high school and undergraduate students to pursue degrees in disciplines relevant to the future needs of the automotive industry, specifically those in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

“Our country is in need of STEM grads, as the focus on innovation and technology continues to sharpen,” said GM Foundation President, Vivian Pickard. “Through the Buick Achievers Scholarship program, we are helping shape the next generation of leaders and innovators for the automotive industry and other sectors that are so important to the future of our country.”
Buick lends special consideration to students who are female, minorities, first-generation university students, veterans of the US military, or dependent on an active or former member of the US military. Students from all 50 states and Puerto Rico are eligible to apply.
The deadline for applications is Friday, February 27th at 5 pm EST. In 2015, Buick intends to award 50 scholarships of up to $25,000 per year, renewable for up to four years (or five years for certain qualifying engineering programs).
