Buick, Cadillac Set New November Sales Records in China
General Motors and its joint ventures in China delivered a total of 371,740 vehicles in China in November. The total marked a 7% year-over-year increase for GM and was made possible by monthly sales records from Cadillac, Buick, and Baojun.
Cadillac sales were up nearly 70% in November with 13,476 units sold, making five straight months of year-over-year growth in excess of 50%. Cadillac crossed the 100,000-unit sales mark for the first time in history during the month thanks to deliveries of more than 5,200 units for the XT5 and a 73% year-over-year sales increase for the Cadillac XTS.

Buick sales were up 1.5% at 109,495 units sold. Buick was led by the Excelle GT’s 36,000+ sales, while sales of the Envision exceeded 24,000 units and sales of the Verano totaled more than 18,000 units.
Baojun sales totaled 74,779 units, up 28% year-over-year. Sales of the Baojun 730 MPV jumped by 30%, and sales of the Baojun 310 hatchback nearly totaled 14,000 units in just its second full month on the market.
Chevrolet sales were up 2.4% at 52,400 units thanks to sales in excess of 10,000 units from the Cavalier, Malibu, Cruze, and Sail. Wuling sales were down 0.2% at 121,566 units.

Through 11 months, GM’s retail sales in China are up 8.5% with a record 3,435,788 vehicles sold.
“With less than a month to go, we are on track for record sales in 2016,” said GM Executive Vice President and GM China President Matt Tsien. “All recently launched products, such as the new-generation Buick GL8 and Baojun 310, have gotten off to a very good start of deliveries.”
