Buick Envision Teased for Chinese Market
Possibly coming to U.S. market soon?
Earlier this week, General Motors teased the Buick Envision for the Chinese market, announcing that the high-end midsize SUV will be making its debut there sometime this year. Our guess is the 2014 Guangzhou Auto Show, which will be held this November.
If the Buick Envision sounds familiar, that’s probably because a concept version was unveiled back in 2011. Sitting between the Encore and the Enclave, the Buick Envision will run on a new-generation powertrain and will boast all-new all-wheel-drive technology from GM. In addition, the Envision will feature start/stop technology, standard across the entire lineup.
The news comes from Shanghai, and for now, it’s only intended for the Chinese market. However, various Envision prototypes have been spotted testing on U.S. roadways over the last year, so there is reason to believe that we may see this baby join the American lineup as early as 2015.
