Out of all four of the GM brands, Buick undoubtedly experienced the most biggest success story last month. Whereas other badges under the GM umbrella faced sales losses in June, Buick actually achieved sales gains.

In fact, Buick retail sales increased by 6.2%, while overall Buick sales increased by 16.4%.

Buick wrapped up June with a total sales volume of 19,299 vehicles. Compared to the 16,575 Buicks sold during June of 2016, this accounts for the massive 16.4% sales spike.

Leading the charge for Buick sales gains was the relatively new Buick Envision. Buick’s luxury SUV reached a sales total of 5,007 at the end of June, resulting in a 248.4% sales increase year-over-year.

So far this year, 22,620 Envision vehicles have been purchased. This is a massive improvement compared to the 1,526 Envision models that were purchased during the first half of 2016.

Not all of Buick’s SUVs experienced sales increases. Sales were down by 5.1% for the Buick Enclave last month, although this is partially due to drivers holding out until the brand-new 2018 model of the Enclave debuts.

Meanwhile, in a market where sedans, especially larger ones, are struggling, the Buick LaCrosse attained major sales growth in June. LaCrosse sales were up 45%, with a total of 2,157 LaCrosse vehicles sold.
