Buick launches new LaCrosse in China

Buick has unveiled the new Buick LaCrosse in China, giving the brand a new ace up its sleeve to appeal to new consumers in the market in which it is most popular

The new LaCrosse aesthetically mirrors the 2017 Buick LaCrosse revealed for North America late last year, and it will be offered in six different trims in China. Powered by either a 1.5T or 2.0T engine, the new LaCrosse is priced between RMB 225,800 and RMB 339,800.

“The all-new LaCrosse incorporates innovations in design and technology, signaling Buick’s future vision in these important areas. It ushers in an exciting new era for the brand in China its largest market,” said SAIC-GM President Wang Yongqing.

One of the most appealing features of the new LaCrosse is its suite of intelligent safety features, which includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Change Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Collision Imminent Braking, Pedestrian Detection, Lane Keep Assist, Following Distance Indicator, High Beam Alert, and Advance Park Assist. Basically, all of the safety features.

The new LaCrosse also features an improved chassis, including a second-gen continuous damping control system that scans road conditions approximately 100 times per second, ensuring ideal handing regardless of the conditions.

Also featured in the new LaCrosse is the latest in IntelliLink infotainment, which includes OnStar 4G LTE with built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay, and Baidu CarLife.

Since launching in 2009, Buick has sold more than 950,000 examples worldwide. The launch of the next-gen model in China alone almost guarantees that it will cross the 1,00,000-unit threshold by the end of 2016.
