Buick Pulls Off Buzzer-Beater in March US Sales
Buick is standing in once again as the sole automotive sponsor of March Madness this year, so it’s somewhat appropriate that the brand squeaks into April with a sales margin of victory that could be easily equated to a buzzer-beater.
Buick gained 0.5% year-over-year in March, moving 20,526 models in 2015 compared to 20,428 models in 2014, a mere difference of 98 units.

Oddly enough, more than half of Buick’s lineup saw sales drops from the year prior. The Enclave accounted for 5,684 sales and a 3.4% decline, the Regal added in 1,901 sales and a 21.6% decline, and the Verano was down 12.9% with 2,866 units sold.
Buick’s two gainers—the Encore and LaCrosse—were more than enough to close the gap. The Encore was only up 7% with sales totaling 5,650 units, and the LaCrosse leapt 24.6% with 4,425 units.
A strong month of sales was not quite enough to bring Buick into the black for the first quarter, however. Through three months, Buick’s US sales totaled 50,497 units, down 4.5% from the pace set through March 2014.
