Buick managed to fare better than GM’s other brands during the third quarter

During the second quarter of 2018, Buick was the only one of General Motors’ major brands to lose sales. This quarter, Buick was not alone in sales losses.

What Does Buick Currently Offer?:  The Buick model lineup

By the end of the third quarter, Buick successfully delivered 45,911 vehicles to customers. This is fewer than the 49,514 vehicles it delivered during that same period in 2017.

Of course, some sales losses are to be expected. GM is shifting focus toward making each transaction as profitable as possible, while the effects of Hurricane Florence have hurt new vehicle sales across the industry.

2018 Buick LaCrosse

LaCrosse sales continued to slide in the wake of waning interest in sedans

Unsurprisingly, the Buick LaCrosse lost the most sales during the third quarter. In the face of declining interest toward passenger cars, LaCrosse sales were down by 31.1 percent.

Yet, in a rather unexpected turn of events, sales for the Cascada were on the rise with a 2.9 percent sales increase. Still, the Buick Cascada remains the brand’s least popular model.

Buick’s decision to diversify the Regal line is continuing to pay off

Buick’s decision to split the Regal line into two separate models appears to be paying off. The Buick Regal experienced the largest sales gains of any Buick vehicle during the third quarter.

Year-to-date sales for the Buick Regal are also on the rise. Buick has sold 11,008 Regal vehicles so far this year, 22.4 percent more than the previous year.

The Buick Envision’s sales performance, on the other hand, was considerably less impressive. Sales for the Envision were down 26 percent.
