Buick Regal Celebrates 40 Years in the Lap of Luxury
Many of us could only hope to look as good as the Buick Regal does when we hit the big 4-0. For four decades, the luxury sport sedan has been the choice for those looking for a harmonious confluence of power, performance, fuel efficiency, and sumptuous styling.
Buick breaks down five generations of their mid-size marvel in a celebratory release that chronicles forty years of innovation. From humble beginnings in 1972 as the upmarket version of the Buick Century (and the position of being one of GM’s first “personal luxury” vehicles) to the first mainstream-available turbocharged V6 beginning with the 1978 model and the Regal’s second generation, the Regal is still going strong leading into 2014.

The new 2014 Buick Regal will be the first model in its history to offer an all-wheel-drive configuration. The turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, updated cabin, and numerous technological amenities have served Buick’s efforts of attracting a younger audience. We suppose that it might be fair to say that the Regal is like Buick’s very own cougar.
