Buick followed up a massive year-over-year sales boost in January with an impressive February that saw the Encore post yet another month of year-over-year increases.

Buick’s sales for the month of February totaled 17,811 vehicles, a 2.3% year-over-year improvement. Combined with January’s sales, Buick’s 2016 sales total climbs to 36,080 vehicles, a 20.4% improvement over the pace through the first two months of 2015.

The difference-maker in February was likely the addition of the Cascada convertible, which totaled 495 sales in its first full month of deliveries. Including sales tallied during the final days of January, the Cascada has moved 583 examples in the United States thus far. The addition of the Envision crossover, which should be hitting dealerships by the end of Q1/beginning of Q2, should help bolster those numbers even further in the months ahead.

Buick’s numbers were, as ever, carried by the strength of the Encore. Buick’s best-seller put up its 26th straight month of year-over-year sales gains, totaling 5,873 sales and a 19.3% increase. Thus far, the Encore already has a nice cushion with 10,793 sales compared to 8,386 sales through February 2015.

Enclave sales were also up double digits, with 4,126 units being delivered for a 14% year-over-year improvement. Thus far, the Enclave is up 9.8% over its 2015 pace with 7,818 vehicles sold.

After a surprising January, the LaCrosse and Regal saw their sales fall off, as did the Verano. LaCrosse sales totaled 2,643 vehicles, Regal sales totaled 1,608 vehicles, and Verano sales totaled 3,066 vehicles, good for a modest month-over-month improvement. To date, Regal sales are up 71.7% at 4,261 units while LaCrosse sales are up 16% at 6,700 units.
