Buick LaCrosse sales were up by a large margin

Most of the January sales reports published by automakers this week possessed few surprises. For the most part, sales results matched up with previous trends found throughout the industry.

One of the few automakers that experienced some surprising sales results last month was Buick. For example, while Buick Encore sales were down by 11.7%, Buick LaCrosse sales were up by 130%.

The Encore remained Buick’s best-selling model last month, with a total of 4,645 vehicles sold. Still, it couldn’t quite match the 5,258 Encore vehicles Buick sold during January of 2017.

Meanwhile, Buick sold nearly three times as many LaCrosse vehicles year-over-year. By the end of last month, 3,006 LaCrosse models had been bought.

Beyond that, Buick reported few sales surprises for the remainder of its lineup. Crossovers and SUVs continued to sell well, while sedans suffered sales declines.

Envision sales were up by a total of 13.7% compared to a year prior. Buick also sold 2,715 Enclave vehicles, slightly above the 2,692 Enclaves it sold in January of the previous year.

Cascada sales came in at 202 units last month. This accounts for a sales loss of 35.3%.

Not even the new TourX and Sportback varieties of the Regal could help the model’s sales performance. Buick only sold 568 Regals last month, a sales loss of 40.3%.
