The Buick luxury brand has reported global sales of 675,964 vehicles from the beginning of January through the end of June in 2016.

That figure of 675,964 units moved represents a sales increase of 20.1% over what the company was able to achieve during the same period just last year. Moreover, Buick is outselling competitors such as Lincoln and Acura in North America. The Encore continues to be Buick’s bestselling vehicle in North America with more 36,000 units sold there so far in 2016.

In China, Buick has grown to become the fifth leading passenger vehicle brand in the country. According to a Buick press release, the luxury automaker’s top-selling vehicles globally are the Envision compact crossover, Encore small SUV, and LaCrosse full-size sedan.

The redesigned 2017 Buick LaCrosse has just recently launched in the United States. The ‘17 LaCrosse features a three-inch longer wheelbase than the outgoing model, while also being 1.6 inches lower to the ground. Underneath its hood, the new LaCrosse comes standard with a 305-horsepower V6 engine and is available with all-wheel drive.

“2016 has been a year of optimism and excitement for Buick as we’ve outpaced our top competitors,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Buick Sales, Service and Marketing. “As new products continue to arrive to our stores, there’s never been a better time to take a fresh look at Buick’s range of premium SUVs and cars.”

Besides experiencing a significant sales increase, Buick has also been in the news recently for being named KBB’s “Best Value Luxury Brand” for the fourth consecutive time.
