So maybe the customer isn’t always right.

Despite interest from consumers, Cadillac has made it clear it will not be producing a V8-powered ATS-V Plus. Cadillac’s Communication Manager David Caldwell told Motor Authority on May 26th there is no need for a V8 engine in the ATS-V because they already have the CTS-V coming out later this year, which should calm everyone’s craving for more V8 power.

Cadillac may have a good point.

The ATS-V already comes equipped with the powerful Cadillac twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 engine. Isn’t 0 to 60 in only 3.8 seconds fast enough?

For most people the answer to that question will a resounding yes. But, for those that disagree, do you remember anyone telling you good things come to those who wait?

When the Cadillac CTS-V finally hits the streets, it will be coming prepared with a 6.2-liter supercharged V8, boasting 640 hp and 630 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission will help this machine reach a reported top speed of 200 mph, which will make it the fastest Cadillac in the brand’s 112-year history.

The CTS-V will also feature a Brembo high performance brake system, Magnetic Ride Control, and Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. The always luxurious Cadillac interior will be complimented by OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi connectivity and a 20-way performance oriented heated and ventilated front seat.

So, you might not miss that rumored ATS-V Plus so much after all, huh?
