Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen believes that his brand will not just take a step forward in China this coming year, but rather a leap forward.

De Nysschen spoke with Reuters on Friday and stated that he fully expects Cadillac sales to increase 25% in China this year. That would carry brand sales over the 100,000-unit mark for the first time in history. Cadillac ended 2015 with sales in China totaling 79,779 vehicles, a 17% year-on-year improvement.

That precedent for growth in China might be cause enough to substantiate de Nysschen’s prediction, and the addition of the domestically-built CT6 sedan and the upcoming XT5 crossover makes that bold claim seem even more plausible. De Nysschen also confirmed that Cadillac will produce the XT5 in China as part of the brand’s efforts to “aggressively” localize production.

Past those two new additions, Cadillac plans to bring four new vehicles to China and double its production output in the country by 2020.

China was Cadillac’s second largest market in 2015, trailing only the United States’ 175,267 vehicles delivered.
