Cadillac ATS stalling

Over the last couple months, the internet has quietly been abuzz with talk of a Cadillac ATS stalling issue that has created safety concerns for several drivers. While GM’s massive recall has taken most of the nation’s attention, Cadillac is still putting some focus on its ATS’s problems and working to resolve them.

According to GM Authority, some drivers of the manual ATS have noticed that the engine will stall as they coast toward a stop. The engine either won’t idle when the clutch has been depressed, or RPMs will go down considerably, below 500, before the engine shuts off entirely.

“I apologize that you have been experiencing this concern as well. Have you reached out to our Customer Care team so this could be documented in our database as well? If not, could you private message me with your name, contact info, VIN, mileage, and dealership that you have been working with? Thank you very much for your time and I hope to hear from you soon.”

GM Authority reports that complaints have also been filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), which has helped Cadillac to more specifically locate the issue and develop a software fix for affected models.
